An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny (T.D.) officiated at the official opening of the new Hewlett Packard Research and innovation Centre at their Ballybrit Campus in Galway. Also in attendance was HP Executive Vice President, John Hinshaw, Martin Murphy, HP Ireland Managing Director and Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland.
The 89,000 square foot design and build contract by MJ Conroy Construction is the largest office block of its kind in Galway.
MJ Conroy Group are delighted to have collaborated with Hewlett Packard on the project over the past number of years and seeing this to completion in February 2015.
The turnkey project was completed over a 16 month time scale. The state-of-the-art facility will house 700 HP employees in R&D, cloud technology and business innovation; confirming Galway as a centre of excellence for HP globally. And as according to Martin Murphy as reported recently in an article in Silicone Republic, it demonstrates HP’s commitment to Galway and Ireland.
