World Cancer Day

February 4th 2022 was World Cancer Day.

Cancer is attributed to the death of 10 million persons annually across the globe. More than one third of cancer cases are preventable by taking measures to reduce personal exposure to tobacco, obesity, physical inactivity, infections, alcohol, environmental pollution, occupational carcinogens and radiation. Another third of cancers are curable when detected early and treated properly.

Find out more about cancer by visiting the World Cancer Day website and the Irish Cancer Society website.
