The project involved alterations to the existing Catholic Church in Cong, County Mayo. The works included the relocation of the entrance, removal of external asbestos facing panels, exposing and replacing of existing rubble limestone and building up the existing external walls using new select ashlar limestone cladding and select metal cladding of patinated bronze around the entrance and zinc sheeting on the south elevation at the ambulatory.
The existing roof was replaced and two barrell vault roof lights fitted over the main body of the church to maximise the amount of natural light entering main seating area. All external windows and doors are made from solid white oak. The project was completed in a five month timescale.
